Antique Meiji Period Large Imari Charger Porcelain Plate

An exceptional, large antique Japanese Imari porcelain charger (35cm / 14 inches) dating from the late Meiji Period (circa 1880–1910).This striking display platter is a beautiful example of historic export porcelain from the Arita region. It features a central underglaze cobalt blue medallion depicting a stylized floral motif, surrounded by alternating panels of vibrant iron-red, detailed hand-painted florals, and intricate geometric gilt diaper patterns. The underside is finished with a traditional stylized auspicious ribboned scroll emblem in underglaze blue and features an authentic kiln spur mark within the foot rim.

CONDITION:Excellent antique condition. This piece has been remarkably well-preserved and appears to have been used strictly as a display item.The delicate gold gilding and iron-red overlays are bright, crisp, and suffer from virtually no rubbing or cleaning wear.No chips, cracks, hairlines, or restoration.Minor organic firing anomalies (small pinpoint cooling pits/kiln sand in the glaze) are present, which are entirely typical of late 19th-century ceramic production and guarantee its antique authenticity.
